QVC Group — an empire built on TV shopping — is about to come out of Chapter 11, the bankruptcy process the company entered in April 2026. The court has approved its restructuring plan, cutting the company's debt from $6.6 billion to $1.325 billion.
The restructuring plan is simple: take the TV shopping model that made QVC famous and adapt it for TikTok Shop and other social platforms. And they have a new $600 million line of credit to support that shift.
The future of shopping is live, social and personal, and QVC is ready to lead the way.
Two things tell you what hiring at the new QVC will look like.
First, the layoffs. In March 2025, QVC laid off around 900 employees across its call centers, studios, and back-office teams. It also closed HSN, its sister shopping network's, Florida campus and moved those operations to Pennsylvania. When two companies become one, you don't need two people doing the same job. Most of those roles aren't coming back.
Second, the bankruptcy deal. QVC plans to relist its shares after bankruptcy. Normally, that would mean hiring people in investor relations, legal, and compliance. But this time is different. The deal was already worked out with its lenders before the court signed it off. There wasn't a big push to win over new investors, so there isn't much reason to hire for those jobs. Put those two things together and you can see where hiring is headed. QVC won't be rebuilding the company it used to be, it will be hiring for the one it's trying to become.
That means the next round of hiring is more likely to include:
People who can produce live shopping shows for TikTok Shop.
People who understand how selling on TikTok Shop works.
Managers to work with creators and affiliate partners.
Supply chain professionals who can spread inventory across more than one location to avoid another major disruption.
A warehouse fire that burned 75% of the facility in December 2021, caused a major inventory loss, something QVC is unlikely to want repeated.
These won't be the only roles, but they give a good sense of where QVC is heading. If you're looking for opportunities in social commerce, this is a company worth keeping an eye on over the coming month.
